Additional Instant Genius: Fast Food For Thought Information
|
The two mottos of the Bathroom Readers' Institute are evident in the pages of Instant Genius: "Get smart," and "Have fun." As the creators of the wildly popular Uncle John’s Bathroom Reader series, the BRI has 20 years of experience translating those mottoes into fun and informative books. But, aware that not every reader is a bathroom reader, they've created this definitive collection of bite-sized bits of knowledge that cover a wide variety of topics from the seemingly ordinary to the obscure and mind-bending. Instant Genius will take the reader on a fun and fascinating trip through the essentials (and non-essentials) of history, science, geography, the arts, pop culture, mathematics, and more.

What Customers Say About Instant Genius: Fast Food For Thought:

An excellent collection of trivia, and a top pick for any leisure library. This fine new title offers excellent trivia facts and is a pick for reluctant to busy readers. INSTANT GENIUS provides a fun reference of trivia facts, from how to tell if you're brain dead to what irony is and is not, and three cheeses south of the border.
I have dozens of these non-fiction, "fun-facts", trivia and minutia collections, and I found "Instant Genius" to be largely unsatisfying. It seemed to skip around hap-hazardly and touched on a variety of obscure and quite boring topics that would make even a lover of esoterica's mind wander. This is not recommended reading.
it presents the information in a logical but fun way, and actually makes them interesting (not like a textbook). my husband told me about the different verb tenses for "lay", like he had never heard of them before, though he learned them in school. interesting book. basiclally, it goes through things you have forgotten from school, plus things you never knew.
